The Galaxy S22+ & S22 Ultra have the brightest displays yet
It was rumored this will happen, and Samsung confirmed it at launch. The Galaxy S22 retains the same 1,300 nits peak brightness as its predecessor. The Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra, however, feature improved brightness. The Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra have a peak brightness of 1,750 nits, which is not just the highest for Samsung’s smartphones, but I believe for smartphones in general. Do note that this peak brightness can only be achieved in specific conditions. You cannot reach it if your display brightness is set on manual, it has to be in auto mode. In manual mode, both devices peak at 1,200 nits. Having said that, 1,750 nits is obscenely bright. You won’t have any issue using the display, not even in direct sunlight. On the flip side, that was a non-issue on the Galaxy S21 series as well, so… there you go. Still, improvement is always appreciated.
Samsung’s Vision Booster technology plays a huge part in keeping the quality high
That being said, Samsung’s Vision Booster technology plays a part in all this. When you crank up the brightness too much, image quality can suffer. Well, Vision Booster is here to help with that, to keep the quality high. Vision Booster analyzes environmental brightness, and then remaps the tone of the image, along with tuning the screen brightness. That way, the display can retain color accuracy. It will be very interesting testing out these displays, which we’ll surely do. We already have plenty of Galaxy S22 series content on the site, click here if you’re interested to check it out.
