According to Jon Prosser, Samsung is planning to take wraps off the Galaxy S21 FE on January 3rd, 2022. The device will reportedly go official at 6 PM PST/ 2 AM GMT/ 9 PM ET. The confusion here is that the phone was previously widely expected to launch a day later, i.e. on January 4th. Jon himself had claimed that before. So there seems to be a last-minute change in plans, or perhaps Jon has some inaccurate information. We shall see soon. Meanwhile, the rumored market release date of the phone is unchanged from before. Jon says the phone will go on sale on January 11. Evan Blass aka evleaks is also suggesting the same. He has posted a few official-looking renders of the Galaxy S21 FE with the date “Tue, January 11” showing on the screen. Though he didn’t say anything else, the post on Twitter is accompanied by the obvious caption “January 11th.” The renders (attached below) also give us a look at some of the stock wallpapers for the Galaxy S21 FE. Moreover, we can also see “AT&T” on the screen, suggesting that the phone will be available through the carrier in the US. Of course, it may also be available on other carriers’ networks.
Galaxy S21 FE has a lot going for it
The Galaxy S21 FE has been subject to countless leaks throughout the year. There’s hardly anything left to the imagination now. The phone sports a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will feature either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or a Samsung Exynos 2100 processor depending on the market. Samsung will offer up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on the phone. For imaging, we have a 32-megapixel camera on the front. The triple rear camera setup includes a 12-megapixel primary camera, 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom. The Galaxy S21 FE can reportedly record 4K videos with both front and rear cameras. Other notable features include stereo speakers, an under-display fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. All in all, if priced competitively, the Galaxy S21 FE has all the attributes to be a hit for Samsung. We will find that out soon.
