As of this writing, the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ are receiving the June SMR (Security Maintenance Release) in several European countries, including Switzerland, Poland, Germany, and the Nordic region. The new firmware version for the phones is G97FXXSFHVF1. The update should reach other markets in the coming days. The phones aren’t getting any new features or enhancements apart from this month’s security fixes. The June SMR doesn’t seem to be available to the Galaxy S10 5G yet. But the wait shouldn’t be too long. Meanwhile, if you’re using the Galaxy Note 10 or the Galaxy Note 10+, the latest security update is now rolling out for your phone. The rollout is currently limited to users in Switzerland but should soon expand to other regions too. The updated firmware version for the 2019 S Pen-wielding Samsung flagships is N97FXXS8HVE9. Don’t be hopeful of anything apart from the latest vulnerability fixes for these phones either. Along with the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 phones, Samsung is also now widely rolling out the June SMR to the Galaxy S20 FE (LTE). The affordable Galaxy first picked up the new security update in Europe a few days back. It’s now available in Asia and Australia too. The new firmware version for the phone in these regions is G780GXXU3CVE7.
More Samsung Galaxy devices receive the June security update
Samsung has been consistently defeating every other Android OEM to the latest monthly security updates for some time now and this month was no different. The Korean behemoth began the rollout for the June SMR in the fourth week of May. It has since seeded the latest vulnerability fixes to over a dozen of Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The company also last week revealed that this month’s update contains fixes for more than 70 security flaws. All of those fixes are now rolling out to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 phones as well. If you’re rocking either of these 2019 Galaxy flagships, the June SMR should be available to you shortly as an OTA (over the air) update. You probably know the drill when it comes to installing the new software package. Wait for a notification about the update and follow the on-screen instructions. Or manually trigger the update by navigating to Settings > Software update and tapping on Download and install.
