For starters, the Galaxy Fold is currently picking up the latest SMR in Europe. Users in France are getting the new release with firmware version F900FXXU6HVJ7. The rollout currently appears to be limited to the 4G LTE model. A wider rollout covering the 5G model as well as units in other regions should follow in the coming days. The Galaxy Z Fold 2, meanwhile, is getting the November security update widely across Europe with firmware version F916BXXS2HVK1, SamMobile reports. The Galaxy S21 FE, on the other hand, is gaining the latest SMR in Latin America. The rollout has begun in Brazil and comes with firmware version G990EXXS3CVJ6. The new security update for this phone should also go global in the coming days. Perhaps it will come with Android 13 in some markets. The same goes for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 as well. It may pick up the November SMR with the new Android version in other regions. The original Galaxy Fold isn’t eligible for Android 13, though. While the Galaxy S10 Lite will get Android 13, it is currently only picking up the latest SMR. The device is receiving this update in Europe, starting in Spain. The new firmware version for the Lite-branded Samsung flagship G770FXXS6GVK1. As always, the company will expand this update to other markets in the coming days. We wouldn’t be surprised if Galaxy S10 Lite users in some regions get the November SMR with the Android 13 update.
The November security update for Galaxy devices patches over 60 vulnerabilities
If not a new Android version, the latest update for the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S10 Lite brings fixes for over 60 vulnerabilities. These include both Android OS issues as well as Galaxy-specific problems. Samsung says some of the privacy and security flaws patched with the November SMR were of critical severity, potentially causing severe damage if exploited in the wild.
