From the back, the Galaxy A73 doesn’t look too different from the Galaxy A53 or the Galaxy A33 5G. We have an identical quad-camera setup in the top left, with a matching lens and LED flash placement. By the looks of it, Samsung is copying Apple in keeping the design language consistent across its offerings. Even the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ are said to keep the Contour Cut camera design of the Galaxy S21 series. That’s not a bad thing though. Coming to the front, the Galaxy A73 sports a reasonably premium look with a centered punch-hole cutout and a thin chin. The power button and volume rocker are on the right, something we see on almost all Samsung smartphones. The USB Type-C charging port is at the bottom, and so are a speaker grille and the microphone hole. Up top, we have the SIM tray and what is likely a secondary microphone. The left edge is free of any ports, holes, or physical keys. Standard Samsung stuff here. Unfortunately, the 3.5mm headphone jack appears to be missing on the Galaxy A73 as well. We are already expecting the Galaxy A53 and A33 to do away with the audio port. But it appears Samsung is removing it from all its 2022 Galaxy A series mid-rangers. The Galaxy A13 5G, which is more of a budget offering, features the traditional headphone jack though.
Galaxy A73 rumored specifications
There’s not much known about the Galaxy A73 as of now. Reports suggest it will be the first Samsung mid-ranger to feature a 108-megapixel camera. The device will likely sport a 6.7-inch display and run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G processor. We are also expecting a 5000mAh compatible with 33W fast wired charging. Samsung has pretty big plans for its 2022 lineup of Galaxy A series mid-rangers. The company is looking to introduce several new features to the lineup, including OIS (optical image stabilization). We are also expecting water resistance on more Galaxy A models next year. But little things like the lack of a headphone jack may put off some potential buyers. Time will tell whether this decision backfires.
