Here’s your first look at the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra flagship
The design is actually exactly what we expected. The top and bottom sides are flat, while the phone’s front and back sides are proportional. The display is curved, while the bezels are minimal. A display camera hole is here, and it’s centered. All the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side, while a Type-C USB port sits at the bottom of the phone. An audio jack is not included here. The fun begins when we flip the phone over. There, you’ll notice a huge, circular camera island, containing four cameras. Leica red logo is hard to miss as well, as this is the first smartphone that comes out of the Xiaomi and Leica partnership. The camera sensors themselves are not provided by Leica, of course, but the lenses are. You’ll notice that one camera sits in the middle of that circle, while the rest of them surround it. One is located above, one below, and one to the left of the central camera.
A periscope camera will be included, as will Leica’s lenses
Now, the camera specs are also mentioned, but that information is based on rumors, it would seem, so take it with a grain of salt. A 50-megapixel main camera is expected, along with a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 48-megapixel periscope unit could also be included, while we don’t know about the fourth unit. It will possibly be a regular telephoto camera. A single 20-megapixel unit is expected to sit on the front. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will fuel the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, while the phone will include a large display on the front. That display could measure 6.7 or 6.8 inches, while it will be a QHD+ AMOLED unit. It will offer a 120Hz refresh rate (LTPO), and support HDR10+ content. WHat the source did note is that the phone’s dimensions are, roughly, 161.9 x 74.3 x 9.5mm (13.1mm including the camera bump). The phone will likely weigh over 200 grams, as ceramic is expected to be used on the back.
