The OnePlus 10 Pro features the second-generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile. As you may remember, last year with the OnePlus 9 series, the company started a partnership with Hasselblad for its cameras. This year, we’re seeing that second-generation platform on the OnePlus 10 Pro. According to OnePlus, this new system supports the OnePlus Billion Color Solution which allows Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad to be applied to over one billion colors. Basically, what this means is that the rear camera is capable of shooting in full 10-bit color. So it is able to process 64 times more color than other smartphones that can only shoot in 8-bit color. The Hasselblad Pro Mode on the OnePlus 10 Pro supports capture in 12-bit RAW on all three of the rear cameras. That is complete with Hasselblad’s Natural Color Solution for Mobile. It also supports a new RAW mode called RAW+. This will let you capture 12-bit RAW photos while retaining the OnePlus 10 Pro’s computational photography to deliver higher quality photos. With the OnePlus 10 Pro, there is a new ultra-wide camera that has a 150-degree field of view, that is about four times wider than those captured on other smartphones.
Top-notch specs, as expected
One thing that OnePlus has been known for, over the years, is providing top of the line specs on its smartphones, and that’s no different here. The OnePlus 10 Pro sports the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (it goes up to 12GB and 512GB in other markets, but the US and Canada only get one variant). There’s a 5,000mAh capacity battery inside that will keep the phone running all day long, and there’s 65W SUPERVOOC charging included that can charge the phone from 1-100% in just 34 minutes. There is also wireless charging called AIRVOOC at 50W that can wirelessly charge your phone from 1-100% in 47 minutes. You might notice that there is no more “WarpCharge” here, and that’s a result of OnePlus and OPPO merging last year. OnePlus stuck with the same size display as their last few phones, so it’s a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with LTPO technology. This will allow it to dynamically switch from 1Hz up to 120Hz. Offering a super smooth display, while also conserving battery life.
When can I buy it?
As mentioned, pre-orders start today, and the phones will ship on April 14. It’ll retail for $899, which puts it right in the middle of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 lineup. OnePlus.com will sell the 10 Pro in Volcanic Black and Emerald Forest and pre-orders will get a free pair of OnePlus Buds Z2. T-Mobile customers can purchase the Volcanic Black color from T-Mobile online and in-store on April 14 – no pre-orders here. It is the exclusive wireless provider in the US for OnePlus.
