Noted tipster Max Jambor has said that the claims of the Galaxy S22 series coming with a Snapdragon chip universally are inaccurate. He didn’t provide any other details to support his claim, but there’s little reason to doubt that. Samsung would be itching to get things right with its in-house Exynos lineup of smartphone chipsets. And the upcoming Exynos 2200 could be the company’s best yet shot to win back the confidence of consumers. Moreover, Max isn’t the only one disagreeing with the latest claim. Soon after the new report emerged, another noted leaker Ice Universe tweeted that the Galaxy S22 series will use Exynos 2200 in some regions. Supply chain sources from South Korea have also confirmed the existence of Exynos 2200-powered Galaxy S22 variants. It could be possible that Samsung will use Snapdragon chips in more markets than it did previously. But the company surely won’t completely ditch Exynos variants. Perhaps it wanted to expand the use of its in-house processors but the ongoing chip shortage issue is getting in the way.
Galaxy S22 will still use Exynos processors in some markets
The rumor mill has been frequently producing Galaxy S22 leaks in recent weeks. And all this while, we have been hearing that Samsung will continue with its strategy of using two different chipsets in different markets. So today’s report claiming that the company will not launch an Exynos-powered Galaxy S22 came in as a surprise. But that claim was expectedly inaccurate. That said, things could still change in the coming weeks. The Galaxy S22 series is more than two months away. Reports suggest that Samsung is delaying the new flagships to February next year.
