Notably, the update is rolling out in multiple regions that include Germany, the Philippines, India, and South Korea. For other regions, the update bumps the security patch level to the latest month and also brings some fixes for minor issues. However, for South Korea, at the time of writing this article, the update also adds the digital key control feature for supported cars. The feature is available for the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra phones. Interestingly, at the launch of these devices, Samsung itself confirmed the arrival of digital key control for supported car feature to Samsung pass. Now, the feature is finally rolling out for the Galaxy S21 series devices. If you own a Samsung Galaxy S21 series phone, specifically the Galaxy S21+ or Galaxy S21 Ultra, you can register your car key to Samsung pass to digitally operate it.

Select models of Audi, BMW, Genesis, & Ford will get Samsung’s car key support for now

At present, there is no clarity regarding which car models are supported by this Samsung digital car key feature. Thankfully, the company has stated that select models of Audi, BMW, Genesis, and Ford will be getting the support, for now. As per TizenHelp, the update arrives with firmware version G99BXXU3AUIE in other regions, whereas in South Korea, it is live as G99BXXU3AUIG. So, if you do not use Samsung Pass, then it is the right time to start using it in order to use the digital car key support feature if you have a supported car. Now the question arises, what all things can be controlled or done using Samsung digital car key control feature? Well, you can easily open or close the doors of your car, using an NFC tag. Moreover, you can also start the engine of your car, simply by placing your phone on the wireless charging pad. Currently, as already mentioned, the feature is available for Galaxy S21 series phones in South Korea. Samsung plans to bring this new Galaxy S21 digital car key control feature to other countries including the US and other European countries, soon.
