The RedMagic 8 Pro specs leaked in detail
Reputed Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the RedMagic 8 Pro will be a more compact smartphone than its predecessor (via). The source is reporting a dimension of 163.98 x 76.35 x 8.9 mm vs. 166.3 x 77.1 x 10 mm of the RedMagic 7 Pro. It will also weigh slightly less at 228 grams (vs. 235 grams). However, Nubia is only cutting off the bezels here. The screen is still a 6.8-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels. The TENAA certification also confirmed this. Expect a substantial improvement in the screen-to-body ratio. The two sources differ when it comes to the under-display selfie camera, though. The former says the phone will retain the 16MP sensor from its predecessor while the latter reports an 8MP unit. Maybe we are looking at two different models. Nonetheless, the RedMagic 8 Pro will feature a triple-camera setup on the back. It gets a 50MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The primary camera is a hardware downgrade from the 64MP unit on the current model, but the hardware is only a part of a smartphone camera setup. The image quality depends a lot on the software. The RedMagic 8 Pro will reportedly come in two different battery capacities, something both sources suggest. The TENAA listing mentions 4,900mAh and 5,720mAh batteries, which are likely rated capacities. The typical capacities could be 5,000mAh and 6,000mAh as reported by Digital Chat Station. The handset is said to support up to 165W fast wired charging regardless of the battery size. Other highlights include up to 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage capacity, an under-display fingerprint scanner, 5G connectivity, and Android 13-based software.
