This was announced at the company’s Upfront presentation on Wednesday, among a few other changes for the network. CNN also announced that Chris Wallace would be on CNN’s Primetime Sunday night schedule. His show “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace” which was originally set for CNN+, will debut on HBO MAX and CNN this fall. As part of a new primetime lineup for CNN’s Sunday programming block. Eva Longoria was another name that CNN spent a ton on to bring over to CNN+. Her show will also move to CNN and HBO MAX, which was “Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico”. It was set to be a spin-off of “Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy”. The show will feature Longoria traveling across Mexico sampling cuisine including slow cooking mole sauce in Oaxaca or harvesting blue agave for tequila.
HBO MAX already hosted a number of CNN Originals
Before the launch of CNN+, HBO MAX had already played host to a number of CNN Originals. This include films and series. including things like “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown”. So it’s not a big surprise to see the content scheduled for CNN+ head over to HBO MAX, as well as existing on CNN itself. After the merger completed, between WarnerMedia and Discovery, the company’s CEO Dave Zaslav was pretty quick to make the change and kill off CNN+. Zaslav and his team believes that the move is to have one mega streaming service, instead of several smaller ones. And we already knew this since the Discovery team said that it wants to merge discovery+ and HBO MAX together into a single app. That won’t happen for quite sometime, but as Zaslav said this morning, it’s coming.
