While in many cases it might be best to play the game with the Deck’s onboard controls, some games will easily support a mouse and keyboard. And in those cases, you’ll want a good one that performs well. It also wouldn’t hurt to have one that’s versatile, meaning you can easily use with the Steam Deck as well as your PC and other devices. With all of that said, here’s what we think are the best gaming mice for the Steam Deck. We’re basing these choices off of a few factors. Best Gaming Mice For the Steam Deck

SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless

It has a Bluetooth connection so it works with the Steam Deck, and battery life lasts for up to 200 hours. It’s also pretty lightweight and that’s one of the more important features here. Since the Steam Deck is meant to be portable, even if you are using a mouse to play some games while on the go, you want one that won’t take up a lot of space and won’t weigh a whole lot extra. Razer Naga Pro

The Razer Naga Pro is one of the best gaming mice you’ll find anywhere, and that includes for use with the Steam Deck. And the biggest reason is because it’s such a versatile mouse. This is because it’s modular and comes with three different button plates that can be switched out. One has all 12 side buttons which is perfect for MMO games. However there are 20 programmable buttons in total when you use this plate. There’s also one with 6 side buttons that is most suitable for MOBA games like League of Legends. And then there’s a plate with two side buttons for FPS games and battle royale titles. Like Call Of Duty and Apex Legends. Like the other options on this list, the Basilisk X Hyperspeed connects through Bluetooth making it easily compatible with the Steam Deck. As well as gaming laptops, and even desktops if they have Bluetooth support as well. This should last for up to 450 hours on a single charge when using the Bluetooth as opposed to the Hyperspeed wireless. So that’s a whole lot of gaming before you need to plug it in. Alienware’s new AW720M Tri-Mode Wireless gaming mouse is everything you could possibly want in a wireless mouse, no matter the types of games you play. While we might still suggest something like the Naga Pro for use in MMOs, the AW720M would suffice for them, and it’s absolutely wonderful in other types of games. Especially FPS titles. The wireless connection is strong making it among some of the best wireless mice we’ve tested for gaming, and it comes with an insanely high DPI should you prefer the increased sensitivity. What we liked most about it though are the dual connection types with the lag-free USB-C dongle, or Bluetooth (which is perfect for the Steam Deck) options. On top of that, battery life is exceedingly high as well, with up to 120 hours using the wireless dongle or up to a whopping 420 hours while using Bluetooth. Additionally, charging the battery for just 5 minutes gets you up to 20 hours of game time. And, it has a cool magnetic snap on charging capability so you can quickly charge when you need to while still using the mouse, and then easily disconnect it when you’re done. Corsair Ironclaw

The Ironclaw makes for the perfect Bluetooth gaming mouse for MOBA and FPS players, though it doesn’t have to be used for those games. The Ironclaw also has an 18,000 DPI sensor if you like to crank up the sensitivity as high as it will go. In addition, you’ve got a multitude of buttons on the side as well as some nifty grips to help prevent the mouse from slipping. SteelSeries Aerox 9 Wireless

SteelSeries’ new Aerox 9 Wireless mouse is the company’s new MMO mouse, featuring 12 side buttons for all of your abilities as well as a couple extra buttons up top in addition to the multi-function scroll wheel and your left and right clicks. It’s similar in functionality to the Razer Naga Pro. Another excellent gaming accessory. Where this might have a bit of an advantage is the weight. The Aerox 9 Wireless is 89 grams. Compare that to the 117 grams of the Naga Pro. And while love the Naga Pro, some people prefer a lighter mouse. But may not want to give up the 12 programmable side buttons. Now you don’t have to settle and you still get a great gaming mouse from a leading brand like SteelSeries. You do have to give up the swappable side plates of the Naga Pro, which means no specialized button layouts for different genres of games. But, if you mostly play MMOs, then that shouldn’t have too big of an impact. SteelSeries Aerox 9 Wireless

Razer Orochi V2

If you’re looking for something really small that won’t take up a lot of space in your bag, look no further than the Razer Orochi V2. This may not work for everyone given the size, as some prefer a bigger mouse to grip. It may also not be that they necessarily prefer it, but that they simply have bigger hands and need something larger for it to be more comfortable. if small gaming mice don’t bother you, this should work great and be one of the best options for the Steam Deck. Because let’s face it. The Steam Deck and its case are already going to take up quite a bit of space in whatever bag you’re using to carry it around. As for features, the Orochi V2 connects through Bluetooth and has a battery life of up to a whopping 950 hours. Now, that’s Razer’s claim, and we haven’t been able to test it. But it should last a fair amount of time and likely has longer battery life than any other option on this list. Roccat Kone Pro Air

Another great option is the Kone Pro Air from Roccat, which uses a dual wireless system to support both Bluetooth and Roccat’s Stellar Wireless low-latency connection. It features a battery life of 100+ hours which isn’t bad. It’s not the longest battery life of any mouse on this list, far from it, but when you consider you’ll be charging your Steam Deck at least once or twice a day, 100+ hours doesn’t sound so bad anymore. In terms of other features it has a few programmable buttons, comes in two colors, it weighs 66 grams and comes with a wired charging cable for recharging the mouse and playing with a wired connection if needed. You can’t go wrong with one of the most iconic gaming mice out there, the DeathAdder. The DeathAdder V2 Pro builds on a long legacy of success. And with Bluetooth it’s more than ready to handle your Steam Deck gaming needs. It also features a 20,000 DPI sensor, 8 programmable buttons, Chroma lighting, and more. Logitech G604 Lightspeed

While this isn’t quite the G502 Lightspeed that we so dearly love, this model from Logitech is actually a better option if you play MOBAs or MMOs. That’s thanks to its 6 programmable buttons on the side in addition to the other programmable keys. In fact it has a total of 18 programmable buttons. So you should be able to hit all your MMO abilities with just the mouse itself. And unlike the G502 Lightspeed, the G604 Lightspeed supports Bluetooth. Battery life is rated to last up to 240 hours which is more than enough for your Steam Deck outings. And this features a fairly similar design to the G502 Lightspeed which is extremely comfortable to use thanks to its ergonomics. Plus, it only costs around $61 (normally $99) right now.
