While Sinclair has not said which specific markets will be getting the service later this week, but we do know that it will be available to stream five MLB teams. Those teams include Detroit Tigers, Miami Marlins, Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays. So those markets are likely included in this soft launch. As reported earlier, pricing for Bally Sports Plus will cost you $19.99 per month, or you can get a yearly subscription for $189. Though it is actually pretty inexpensive compared to NESN 360 which recently launched for $30 per month or $330 per year.
Sinclair will expand Bally Sports Plus to more sports in the future
Sinclair does plan to expand the service to also stream all NBA and NHL teams that are carried by Bally Sports in the fall. Allowing customers to stream NBA, NHL and select MLB teams on their Bally Sports RSN in their local markets. Which has been a point of contention for many people, as they want access to out of market games. But that doesn’t appear to be on the table for Sinclair here. If you’ve cut the cord, the only real option right now is DIRECTV STREAM for Bally Sports, so Bally Sports Plus might actually get a pretty big customer base fairly quickly. But most are not going to be happy about spending another $20 per month to watch up to three local teams. Since not every market has a team in the NBA, NHL and MLB. It’ll be interesting to see how rocky this launch is later this week when the service does go live.
