It’s been a long wait, but the game is finally arriving on Android and iOS devices next week. So long as you live in one of the supported regions. Unfortunately for US players, the limited regional launch of Apex Legends Mobile does not include the US. Respawn says that the US and additional countries will gain access to the launch at a later date. Albeit without mentioning any specifics for now.
Apex Legends Mobile enters a regional launch in 10 countries next week
According to Respawn’s blog post, the 10 countries included in the limited regional launch are Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Colombia. Once the game goes live, pre-registered players will have access to some of the game’s content and legends, but not all. Respawn states that the limited regional launch will include Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Wraith, Bangalore, Octane, Mirage, Pathfinder, and Caustic. As for additional content and legends, those will be added into the game with the global launch happening down the line. The game will also not feature cross-play with non-mobile platforms. Additionally, the regional launch is expected to last through the Spring. So perhaps players outside of these 10 countries will see a global launch sometime in the Summer of this year or later.
Device support is also limited
Even if you live in one of the supported countries, you won’t be able to use just any device to play the game. The regional launch will have a limited list of supported Android devices that need to meet specific requirements. You’ll need at least Android 8.1 or later along with 3GB of RAM and 3GB of free storage space. The device also needs to support Open GL3.0 or higher. In terms of devices, only devices from Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, Motorola, Samsung, Lenovo, and Xiaomi are supported. For iOS players, you’ll need at least an iPhone 6s. And it needs to be running on iOS 10.0 or later with at least 2GB of RAM.
