Android 12 is now rolling out to the Motorola Edge 20 Pro… in select markets
Motorola took quite some time to start rolling out its Android 12 updates. The first smartphone received it in February, and a handful of devices got it thus far. We reported that the Moto G50 started getting the update recently, and now the Motorola Edge 20 Pro also joined the pack. The Motorola Edge 20 Pro, as most of you know, is a high-end device from the company. It arrived in August last year, and it has a lot to offer. This update is rolling out OTA (Over-The-Air), and we’re talking about a staged update. You may not receive it straight away, but it will land on your device soon, presuming you’re in the market it’s rolling out in.
It’s coming with the March 2022 security update, not the April one
It’s worth noting that this update includes an Android security patch for March 2022. So, it’s not exactly the latest one, but many would say it’s close enough. Let’s hope that the April security patch will arrive soon as well. This particular update is going out to the Motorola Edge 20 Pro devices with a model number ‘XT2153-1-DS’, in case you were wondering. More models should get it in the near future. You’ll get all the major Android 12 features as part of this update. Most importantly, Google’s new Material You redesign is included, along with changes to the notifications, and new privacy features. In addition to that, your phone will retain those Motorola feature that people love so much. Features such as Fast flashlights, Flip to DNS, and Quick capture, amongst others. The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is one of the most powerful devices from the company to get this update. It comes with a large 144Hz display, the Snapdragon 870 SoC, and up to 12GB of RAM. It includes 30W charging, a 108-megapixel main camera, and more.
