Firstly, the design on the new Insignia F50 series is much improved over the predecessor. These are TVs that you’re actually going to want in your home. Previously, Insignia TVs were pretty cheap looking. After all, that is Best Buy’s store brand. There’s slimmer bezels this time around, which help with the design too. There is built-in Dolby Vision HDR support here, giving you some incredible looking pictures from this panel. As well as DTS Virtual-X audio for the built-in speakers. Meaning those built-in speakers are actually going to sound halfway decent. Surprisingly, there’s no Dolby Atmos support here, though that is likely due to keeping the costs down here. As the licensing for Atmos can be pretty pricey.
When can I get this new Fire TV?
These are still rather inexpensive TVs for what they are. But if you are looking for a TV to take full use of the features in the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, then you’re going to want to look elsewhere. And also spend a bit more on a new TV – likely at least a grand.
