Let me explain. A while back, CAD-based renders of the Galaxy S22 Ultra appeared. Those renders showed us a design with a single camera island on the back. Soon after it popped up, Ice Universe, a well-known tipster, said that the device could have two camera islands on the back. You can see both variants below.
The alternate Galaxy S22 Ultra design may deliver two camera islands
Following that, @OnLeaks, who shared the CAD-based renders in collaboration with Digit, said that it’s possible. Those are the two designs Samsung can’t decide between, allegedly. That’s the only difference, though, we know everything else. So, if you take a look at the images below, you’ll see the alternate design. You’ll notice the separate, vertical camera islands on the back. You’ll also notice that the phone has completely flat top and bottom sides, and that it’s proportional when it comes to front and back curves. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a curved display, and it will be made out of metal and glass. It will also come with an S Pen stylus, which will be docked inside the phone. That space will be accessible from the bottom, similar to what the Galaxy Note 20 offered.
The device will have minimal bezels
A single display camera hole will be included, and it will be centered. The bezels on this smartphone will be minimal. Samsung’s logo will be placed on the back, while you’ll notice all the physical keys on the right. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will become official either in January or February next year. Most rumors said it’s coming in January, but the Galaxy S21 FE may launch then, so February is still in play. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ will launch alongside the S22 Ultra, of course, but those two phones will look completely different.
